CAT MACHINE - A Chip Off The Old Monk

This tape marked the first appearance of Chipmonk, who became a full fledged member, played out live with Cat Machine, even helped found One Fell Swoop, along with Joel and Ed,and played in many Sluggisha bands, before joining The Apples In Stereo! Chipmonk sings some great songs here,"Rat Ranglers" and "Has Anybody Seen My Pants?".Special guests on this tape were:Philbert Ze Chocolat Clown, with his vocal finesse on ,"Woman Burger" , and "Hole In The Wall" , Chris Nicholson's rendition of ,"Summer Job", plus Chuck Connell and Billy Drake. Joel's vocals here are some of his best, including,"Man About Town" , "Impatient Years" and ,"The Defiant Ones".Tony croons in his own style to,"Moon Over Mannequins" ,"Treachery Rides The Range" and,"Sinister Desires".Ed's sermon ,"Thoughts On Capitalism (Greed)",and a "Mr. Rogers" impersonation,as well as the stompers ,"Boiling In The Bathtub" and " Barfly Cannibal", kinda defines the Cat Machine sound.Chuck has a go at it with ,"Chuck's Ghetto, parts 1 and 2",and Billy is on like King Kong.A great release (their 19th!),kinda setting you up for what comes next, more hit pop tunes! In 2 parts, get it now!!!!!!!!!!!
